Visit Us in Red Lodge

Red Lodge, Montana is a great mountain town founded in 1884. Its roots are in ethnic heritage, with many cultures, including Finnish, Italian, and Slavic. These early settlers came to work in the coal mines in Red Lodge and nearby Bearcreek. These coal miners brought the rich traditions of their homelands with them, which is still evident today in areas of town known as “Finn Town”, “Little Italy”, and “Hi-Bug”.

As mining begin to fade, the communities’ proximity to Yellowstone National Park became very important to its economic well being. The Beartooth Highway was completed in 1936 and linked Red Lodge to the park by way of the most scenic highway in America!
